Clash of the Titans.

Have you watched the latest Clash of the Titans? I have to say, the graphics are good, but almost everything in the show is too short lifted. It's like the director cast this movie in a rush! Almost a decade ago was the first time I watched Clash of the Titans, the older version couldn't match the latest one in terms of visual graphics and effects, but the older one certainly was memorable with an impact and had the extra X-Factor.

I would like to share more on the movie but I'm in a tight schedule to study. Anyway a sneak preview of a random scene in Clash of the Titans, if you've not watched it yet :).

Saw V

A moment when you thought you might have seen the last of the sadistic sequel of SAW,

think again.

Do you want to play a game?
(Not DoTA, don't kill the mood.)

Arguably the most brilliant yet cutthroat movie, ever.

Football Facts, celebrated Birthday boys & Get Smart.

To all football lovers, footballer lovers, or whom that may be interested,
In this case, it's football(soccer), not the American football.

In the midst of Euro 2008 and since the football fever is still on, I wish to share with you several facts regarding football that I came across from substantial sources.

1. Playing football can make you shorter, temporarily in most cases.

Sometimes, I do feel I can grow a little taller than I actually am currently. This is mainly football is a high impact sport, that causes compression in our bones like our knee, spine, and others. The role of hydration should not be overlooked and may contribute to the release of fluid from the our body via osmosis, which can also contribute to height loss. Try measuring your height before a competitive football match and after the match. You might find out you lost a centimeter :(.

2. Football burns more fats than jogging.
Of course jogging is an excellent method for losing those flabs, but vigorous football proved to be more effective! According to a research, 2-3 weekly rounds of soccer practise, of the duration of approximately 1 hour, released massive health and training benefits. Their percentage of fat went down, the total mass of muscle went up, their blood pressure fell and their fitness ratings improved significantly. The sports scientist believes that it is the shifts between walking, running and sprinting that causes the soccer players to experience better health improvements. When you compare both jogging and playing football, football is definitely easier and much more fun as players are able to display their respective dexterity and skills in various ways.

Dude, how bout a round of football?
Wei Kit, opt for football instead of jogging and you will be as thin as a stick in no time :b.

3. Soccer is called football in practically every country except America.
I'm from Malaysia so I shall stick to calling it football then :).

4. Football players are sportsmen most at risk of injury.
A study into injuries of people with long term sport involvement found significantly more football players (63.3%) sustained sports injuries than others and swimmers had relatively few injuries (28.1%). The injury related to football are usually involving lower-limbs.

This is my foot injury from futsal that caused immobility for several days, severe pain and the inability to play any sports for 2 months.

5. Knee injuries are more prone among the female footballers than the male.
Research has shown that as female athletes mature physically, growth in height and muscular changes cause them to have less control of their knee joints. This is why women tend to change direction and land from jumping with their knees straight and inward predisposing them to ligament and cartilage tears. One way to combat this problem is to strengthen the core muscles; back, abdominal, and hip, and to teach them proper jumping technique.
Ladies, probably sticking to sending your kids to football training and tuition would be a better choice than playing football.
I'm might have feminist plotting to kill me tomorrow.

But these group of ladies from Brazil sure do have what it takes to put some male amateur football teams to shame.

6. Football teams from higher altitudes have significant advantage over teams from lowland teams.
At higher altitude, the air is thinner and the atmospheric pressure is less. At altitude, lack of oxygen (hypoxia), cold and dehydration can lead to breathlessness, headaches, nausea, dizziness and fatigue, and possibly altitude sickness. Activities such as football can make symptoms worse, preventing players from performing at full capacity. In contrast, lowland teams are unable to acclimatise to high altitude, reducing physiological performance.
Do you know that the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA), banned international matches from being played at more than 2500 m above sea level?

Speaking of high altitudes, I wanna hike up the Mount Kinabalu! Anyone interested and has contacts of tour guides?

8. Heading a ball could damage your neck and also lower you IQ.

Football players had less flexible necks than non-football players. They also had more damage to the cervical discs and more compression of the spinal cord. The correct heading technique would be essential to prevent such injury.
NO WONDER I'M SO DUMB LA, I always head the ball ;(.

9. Every dude who loves football needs a girlfriend. (you're smart enough to notice I made this up right?)
I love football. I need a girlfriend. I'm desperate.
Bye bye thanks for reading.

Enough of talking, let's go kick balls!!

Get Smart was hilarious!
If you wish to get a good laugh even on a dull day, watching this movie would definitely be good :). Though the plot is kinda whacky at certain parts, haha.
I watched it with Wei Guan :).

Even the cast of the movie gets you excited.
  • Steve Carell from 40 year old Virgin, he suits the role so well hahaha.
  • Anne Hathaway from Devil Wears Prada, she's sizzling hot. Ice please.
  • Dwayne Johnson, The Rock! Too bad he didn't play a big role though.
  • Terry Crews, the big black dude from White Chicks? hahaha.
  • Masi Oka, who plays Hiro Nakamura in Heroes. There's one scene of him that cracks me up la hahaha.
  • Ken Davitian, who plays Azimat in Borat? Hahaha poor dude gets humped this time instead of suffocating Sacha Baron Cohen in his crotch.
  • Dalip Singh, The Great Khali from WWE!
  • James Caan from Las Vegas!
& the list goes on.

This movie is highly recommended by me :).

Late March Update + Pre-KL International Marathon

I apologize for making you guys feast on only the pictures of me and my classmates for quite a duration of time.

Specially for BOBO aka WengFai,
Now I'm back in blogging mode. For the better or for the worst, you shall decide.

Recently, I watched Ah Long Pte Ltd with Kirsten & Daniel. Haha if you're a pure "Banana"(term for Chinese people who doesn't understand Chinese language) I reckoned it's gonna be hard for you to enjoy the movie. You'll probably end up being like Daniel (Daniel's a "Banana").
You would enjoy the movie to the fullest if you can understand Hokkien, Mandarin, and a bit of other dialects I couldn't quite remember.

The show is rather mild on the violence, and quite random.
They somehow ended up in a game of football using a durian?

I personally like the quote by Mark Lee, who was playing a Dancing Teacher cum Image Stylist with a dash of "Aqua-ness"(lack of testosterone) when he strikes back whoever who calls him "aqua".

"YOU ASK YOUR MOTHER LIE DOWN THERE SEE I MAKE HER PREGNANT THEN YOU CAN CALL ME YOUR AH PA"
by Mark Lee in the movie.

hahaha.

Fann Wong was asked to "show-some-breast" by her mother in that movie as well.

The other highlight was, the feature of famous veteran Singaporean blogger, Lao Zha Bor!

"Lao Zha Bor" simply means old lady in Hokkien.
She might be old be definitely youthful at heart!

Funnyman Mark Lee and Lao Zha Bor in Red! (very ANG!) [ang = red in Hokkien]

Lao Zha Bor with beautiful flowers!

--------

Besides that I also watched The Shutter, which is basically an English version of the Thailand Horror Biggie, what else but The Shutter with Dina.

It was slightly queer and eerie only at rare occasions.
Let me introduce you the ghost/haunting spirit of the movie, Megumi Tanaka, played by Megumi Okina who is a J-Pop singer.

Megumi, doesn't have a really ghost-ish make-up in that movie. She was pretty much her plain self. But very stalker-ish. You know what I mean.

After the whole show, I stood up with Dina, we both were kind of stunned for a moment.
We both saw a MEGUMI-look-a-like sitting behind us!

Megumi is rather friendly you see. She ... er... left a message in my chatterbox?

AHHHHHH.

Pre-Kuala Lumpur International Marathon

Reminiscence of last year, and if most of you possibly remember, I competed in last year's KL International Marathon for their 7km run with severe food poisoning and fever.

Well, this year is not very much different!
I had a really bad fever and food poisoning just a few days before KL Marathon.
The distinctive differences are this year my condition is much milder and I'm taking 10km.
But still, who wishes to compete in a marathon feeling unwell?

Tomorrow I will be going to Wisma OCM at KL with WeiKit, KitWeng and maybe a few others to collect our marathon shirt, number tag as well as settle our entry payment.

Hopefully I will be in good shape to race on Sunday.

KL Marathon participants, it is advised that you visit KL MARATHON SITE to be a much more informed participant.

& one more thing.
The mother who's cooler than the word cool.
Yes, you guessed it.
Aunt Farah has a facebook profile!
I just added her yesterday :)

What's in it for you?

I really have been occupied lately, assignments and my Mid-Terms.
The bane of the assignments and assessments are inevitable.
So far I can say I did not too bad, except for Accounts.
This subject appears very much like a Martian to me. It's gonna be tough if I'm choosing to be an Accountant. Heaven forbids miracle happens.

So far, I got to know I scored the highest for Maths, Economics and Public Speaking Presentation in my class :).

A little note, our NS trainee friends will be back on the 11th March.
& doom's day is... (better not say anything to jinx it :P)
Call me superstitious or whatever you want.

---

Oh, a very belated birthday wish for Wei Kit here exclusively on my blog.

Our Buddha-look-a-like friend, who never fails to make us ;
  • laugh at his lame remarks
  • run away from his loud but friendly fart.
  • feel impressed with his exam grades.
  • feel excited/disgusted when he kisses YongMeng.
Happy Belated Birthday Soo Tho Wei Kit!

---

I watched 10, 000 BC recently.
THE MOVIE IS AWESOME SHIT.

I loved it.
  • Wanna watch how prehistoric men hunt down mammoths?
  • Wanna know what did the prehistoric man do when he came face to face with a saber toothed tiger?
  • Wanna check on the hot actress Evolet played by Camilla Belle?
  • You've got a thing for untidy men/women in prehistoric attire.
Either you suit the criteria above or you don't, I still recommend you to watch this movie. Good stuff.

Oh, election fever.
Who did you guys vote for? (if you're eligible to vote)
It kinda surprises me on how badly Barisan Nasional is defeated.
Like how Pak Lah mentioned ; "Clear proof of democracy at work in the country"
My intuitions are telling me this Barisan Nasional people are deeply devastated with their loss.

I know a great number of the people backing DAP.
Khy Li, Ethan, SerSiang's mum for example.
& how Dina has an infatuation on Tony Pua who won the parliamentary seat of Petaling Jaya Utara defeating Chew Mei Fun.

It's 2.00am now.
*yawns.

Tongue Tied.

Greetings!

If most of you are wondering how I'm doing at UTAR, I can say I'm adapting, adapting to the surrounding, the new way of learning, the different circle of people.

The food there is very CHEAP.
The mixed rice with 3 dishes is only RM2.60.
4 dishes? RM3.00 .
Iced Milo? RM0.90 .
Teh Ais? RM0.80 .
Teh 'o' Ais? Rm0.70 .

Not to say their food is very yummy, but it's sufficient to supply me with chemical energy and keep me alive.

& sometimes, during like our 2 hour long lecture, it can get a little boring.

----

Last Friday, it was Tongs, Hua Yu & Sheng Jun's farewell party at the luxurious residential area of Setia Alam.
Thanks Belle & your mum for the ride there!

Tongs is leaving for Australia on the 10th Feb.

& yesterday, I visited Daniel, Sarah and Syabil at their NS Camp at Kuala Kubu Baru, also known as KKB.

Much thanks to Sarah's parents who were so nice to ferry us there, us inclusive of ThianHong, Vincent, Joanna and Estee.

Of course we bought stuffs like food, and small gifts along.

Daniel totally have no access to Internet till 5th Feb. So the "Dan" you saw in his blog isn't him. I miss our NS trainee friends and Daniel's absence had made going online a little less interesting don't you think so?

Sarah also doing well there but bullied occasionally :\.
She dislikes the shoes, food and the long sleeve shirts all girls have to wear all the time :b.

& Syabil, he lose some weight! I don't have any pictures, but wait till you see him back here!

Right now, EXCLUSIVE pictures of Mr. Daniel Tan Boon Leong!

He's enjoying himself and adapting well there :). He's gonna be representing his Camp for Futsal.
According to him, there are many talented players there.

Daniel : "WE'VE GOT 5 KHAIRILS HERE LA"

ThianHong and Daniel.

The bathing place.
But not Daniel and Syabil's.
They shower in some cleaner, more private but prohibited bathroom :b.

Daniel's messy bed with the picture of his family :).

He's not suppose to draw stuffs on his cupboard :b.

Syabil(he lost weight didn't he!), Vincent, Sarah, ThianHong, Joanna, Estee, Daniel & myself.

"My Precioussssss"

Unlike every single human being who are able to blink their eyes, I watched Lord Of The Rings for the FIRST time 2 days ago.
IT WAS SO DAMN GOOD.

Thanks to ChoonSeng who lent me his DVDs, I spent my "Merdeka" day off watching all 3 of the series ;

The Fellowship of The Ring ; Its not very heart-pounding, but this is the base to every happening in the coming movie.

The Two Towers ; The scene of the defense at Helms' Deep was FUIYOH.

The Return of The King ; The Hobbits were extra MIGHTY in this movie. Very good movie.
I didn't want the movie to end haha!

Don't you think the ORCS are DAMN COOL?

Yeaaaah that's what I'm talking about.
