I see the emergence of new and talented players. The great will to play the game well.
Getting involved in softball is always an awesome way to meet new friends, and I'm sure most of you players did meet many new acquaintances.

Yesterday, Patrina suffered a shot on her head, a severe one.
A national pitcher pitched an enormously fast pitch straight to Patrina's forehead?
She wasn't wearing any safety wear that moment.
Patrina suffered a minor cheek fracture and ;
Blood started flowing out like water.
She is close to being fine now, after having 30 STITCHES.

Remember I mentioned that a national pitcher pitched the ball to Patrina's head? To show his remorse he gave his national jacket specially for Patrina. It was a huge gift, but he has all the reason to feel guilty for launching a ball straight to her head.

So, the U-18 boys are champion!!

1st Day of MSSD Softball 2008 at SMK Alam Megah, Shah Alam

MSSD Softball has always been a highlight to us, DJ-ians.
Though, most of us treat softball as our 'part-time' sport, we still take this game with great enthusiasm.

Like Mr. Chia would always say,

"Softball is an intelligent game!"

Frankly speaking, you don't have to posses a super athletic ability to be good in softball. You just understand the game and play strategically. Of course having athletic ability would be a bonus.

Every year, DJ will be the host for MSSD Softball. But this year was kinda sucky, it was held in Shah Alam.

Sometimes, visiting other schools remind us how good SMKDJ is.

Back to a review on that very day.

Yong Meng, May Ee and I drove there.
Why?
The school was only willing to hired a bus to transport so many people there.
So as we drive there we ferry some of the passengers as well.

It wasn't not near okay.

We arrived quite late. I mean fashionably late :P.
& as the game was about to start, you will come to realize the DJ squad is never short of great spirit and determination.

The Under 15 girls got 3rd place.

As I'm doing this post, the Under 18 Boys and Girls are playing.

The Under 15 boys will be playing tomorrow.

I'm sorry I can't join you guys today.

13th & 14th April.

These two days are special. Many people I know share their birthdays on these two dates.
Thus, I shall feature them, cause they are worth being featured.

Yeoh Wai Hong ;

Wai Hong, is the kind of guy who put the importance of friends above many other matters.
A great singer / guitarist / piano player.
His singing is awesomee :).

She is irritating, annoying at times. But which sibling isn't like that? Of course she has a bright side as well that could be rather admirable. She might not look the most sociable person around, but she can be a great companion. I assure you so, cause she's... my sister. haha.

This girl I know from LEO Forum, she is a girl who has the power to capture your attention, I'm not surprise if she can even make you dump the idea of watching your favourite football match just to talk to her. haha this girl from Penang is also a pretty bright student! Watch out for this great gal!

Illa! The girl I met at Lisa's farewell party. We had a rather memorable time dancing, haha. She's a human rojak who has the blood of a Javanese, Malay, Chinese, Dutch, and I don't know haha. But, she has a bountiful knowledge of Japanese & loves everything bout the Land of The Rising Sun.

MSSD Softball.

I'm freaking tan now.

Head turner.

On 5th of April, there is actually 3 sporting event for me to participate.

• Goodwill Games - Volleyball Tournament
• UTAR Sports Carnival - Futsal Tournament & Captain Ball
• Playing Futsal for my mum's company.

I wonder why, are people feeling rather competitive on the 5th of April?

Above all that, I chose to participate in the Goodwill Games. Without doubt it's the most prestigious compared to the others.

So, my volleyball team consist of Dillion, Aaron, Vincent, Philip, Paul, Meng Wai, Choon Seng and myself.

We all were representing St. Ignatius Church, Dillion's church.

On the day itself ;

We had a rather bad start.
Everyone gathered at the church.
When it's time to move, Vincent can't move his car.

Due to the car's anti-theft system I suppose, the alarm of the car went on and the car can't be started.

Moments later, the car can be started, take off time!

But after traveling as far as zero displacement(LDP in front of the church), the car's alarm went on again and we had to stop to deal with the car.

Finally, Vincent manage to break the car's security system code or something like that? So off we go! To Matshusita Stadium/Sports Complex!

On our way, we stumbled upon this car. L or P?
I'm confused.

We all settled down at that place, and start off with our volleyball match!

Suddenly, I saw Mr. Jacob Loh. Spoke to him, asked him if Justin is around.

He replied, "Yes he is, he's participating in the 4x400m and 400m event later"

I was shocked, I didn't know they have track events!
Met up with Justin and Adrian Sankar. So I was offered to participate in 400m and 4x400m! I agreed on the spot to run despite being unprepared :p. Haha impromptu run!
I am then passed a spike shoe of my size.
I was merely a substitute for volleyball, so my absence wouldn't have that great effect on our team.

Lovely. I never thought I would participate in track events again!
So instead of playing volleyball, I go run run run.

They do have great competitors there. There's a 400m state runner, MSSD 1500m champion there and many other strong runners. Don't play play.
The 400m state champion's lead from my position was unpleasantly far. Monster la they all :\.

4x400m. Anticipating the baton to be passed to me.

Arghh.

For the results;

4th for 400m.
3rd for 4x400m.
4th for Volleyball.

Despite my absence, my futsal team for UTAR Sports Carnival got 2nd and the my Captain Ball team won 1st!

Shah Alam is not a good place to be under the rain. Due to the fact it has numerous factories around, the acid rain is BAD. As I had run 400m under the rain, I caught a cold :\.

As for today, I woke up really late as I was exhausted from yesterday, my dad brought us to O&S restaurant for lunch.

Met KhyLi, YiChing and family as well as YoongKen and family, with my half-awake look.

KL International Marathon 2008

I am so not a long distance runner.

Cut short, I can roughly summarize my KL Marathon this year wasn't that good.
I really, really wasn't in the condition to race.

However, I just give it all and probably used every ounce of energy present in my tank.

For the 10km run, the category is 18 years and above. As long as you achieve any position from 1st to 500th, you will be eligible to receive a medal. It only matters if you get 1st, 2nd, 3rd for this event cause thats only when you win cash while there isn't much difference getting 4th or 500th.

Had Kevin close to me almost throughout the whole 10km.
We approached Dataran Merdeka together, but he has that extra boost so Kevin got 122th and I got 125th. Out of like erm a sea of runners. Ok laaa.

I rushed off to the washroom right after that.

Walked out.. & then I collapsed and passed out.
On some tar road behind a Silver MyVi is all I can remember.
It felt as if my life is taken out off me. I was totally blank and motionless.

Yup, you guessed it. No one came to my aid. Passerby and people around probably thought I... was taking a short nap? I suppose I collapsed for not less than half an hour.

It spoilt my day. I couldn't walk properly ; didn't enjoy much of the complementary drinks and cereal provided.

Right after I gain consciousness, I walked around the field, looking for familiar faces. When I saw Brian and Justin Loh, I shouted for their name with all my might and as soon they noticed me, I was relieved and couldn't help much but collapse again. Those guys initially wanted to do their regular-touch-me gay-ly routine, but soon learn that I wasn't okay.

Later on, I was helped out around by Wei Kit, Kevin. & Gene-Harn gave me a massage that made me feel much better. Thank you guys.

Wei Kit was delighted to obtain a medal, but the slight defect for him was he injured his ankle. All the hard time jogging paid off eh? :)
Kit Weng boy from NS was happy he got a medal too.
Paul Levine didn't have a good time during marathon either. He wasn't feeling well as well and he was injured resulting from stepping someone else's empty bottle.
Eugene and Adrian Sankar did rather well in their 21km. Very impressive.
Candice Sow shouldn't be left out. This sweet-but-steady girl got 96th for her 7km! What add to the fact of her being powerful was she still has the energy to go SHOPPING at the Pavillion!

Without doubt I can say that this year's competitors are definitely better runners.
